Junipers are popular, evergreen conifers that are 100% maintenance-free plants that will grow almost anywhere. There are plentiful of varieties, each of which is suitable for a slightly different use.
Grey Owl is a slow-growing variety with irregular, slightly twisted branches and silvery-blue foliage. Shrubs are usually same width as height. Or they can be trained into a small tree with light grey bark.
Grow juniper in any soil, including chalky, that is not boggy. It will tolerate drought. Fully hardy to -40°C (USDA zone 3).
