ROSENGRÄFIN MARIE HENRIETTE is a floribunda rose from the Parfuma® series bred by German rose specialists Kordes Rosen. It bears medium-sized, 8-10 cm wide, pink flowers. They resemble the English roses being fully double. The most striking feature about this variety is its intoxicating perfume – a rich blend of fruity notes and licorice combined with apple tones. It blooms profusely and repeatedly from June until autumn. It forms dense and upright shrubs about 80 cm tall. The deciduous leaves are medium green, glossy and very healthy. It was bred by Tim Hermann Kordes in 2004 and the patent PP25993 was granted in 2015. It is sold in the USA under the trade name Summer Romance®.
Planting instructions: Prepare a hole of size 30x30 cm. Put your rose in the way that the grafting point is 3 cm deep in the soil. Water well and cover new shoots with soil or bark mulch about 15 cm high. Roses tolerate wide range of soils but thrive in deep, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, in full sun.
Pruning: Cut the branches by about a half in autumn and prune hard to 3-5 live buds in spring after all frosts. Spent flowers are best removed as they begin to fade. Cut off spent flowering clusters just above the leaf with 5 leaflets or deeper if rejuvenating is desired during vegetation and follow a regular feeding programme.
