Deciduous broadleaf Summer blooms |
This special hydrangea comes from southeastern USA. It is an attractive mound-forming shrub with oak-like, deeply cut leaves of bright green colour turning purple-bronze in autumn. The flowers appear beginning of summer. They come in upright panicles of pure white individual flowers that open one by one, turning pinkish when they fade. Hydrangeas like moist (not wet), slightly acidic soil. This variety can stand in full sun if enough moisture is provided. Pruning is not needed, you can trim it after flowering (before August) or remove unwanted branches in late winter. Fully hardy.
