BELLEVUE® is a hybrid tea rose from Kordes, sold as Gypsy Soul in USA. It produces enchanting and noble flowers of deep red to burgundy red, velvety smooth petals. Flowers are about 10 cm across and release a rich and deep perfume with hints of forest fruit. It is a very healthy rose with deep green leaves. It flowers repeatedly from June until frost. The shrub grows a little less than one meter tall and wide. It was bred by Tim-Hermann Kordes in 2006, and introduced during Baden-Baden rose competition in 2015. It was named by the hotel where roselovers meet annually to select and award the best rose novelties. Patent PP29272 was granted in 2018.
Planting instructions: Prepare a hole of size 30x30 cm. Put your rose in the way that the grafting point is 3 cm deep in the soil. Water well and cover new shoots with soil or bark mulch about 15 cm high. Roses tolerate wide range of soils but thrive in deep, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, in full sun. During the flowering season regular feeding is recommended. Its hardiness was so far tested down to -27°C (USDA zone 5b).
Pruning: Regular deadheading during the flowering season will enhance production of new flower buds - remove stems with spent flowers above the first leaf with 5 leaflets where the stem is strong and does not bend. Hard prune the whole shrub in early spring after frosts to 3-5 live buds above the ground.
