Description of the plant:
This bamboo is a popular groundcover. Its mid-sized leaves are 10-14 cm long and 1-1.5 cm wide, and distinctly white variegated. It comes from Japan.

It is a vigorous grower that has wild root system. If you want to keep it in a certain area of your garden we recommend using root barriers. Leaves are quite hardy but the plant will definitely look best if sheared down to the ground every spring to encourage new and healthy growth.

Bamboo likes fertile, moist but well-drained soil and for best varigation full sun. It is hardy to -20°C (USDA zone 6b) but if covered with snow or mulch it can take deeper frost.
