Sonet® is a Czech variety of columnar apple tree. It makes medium large to large, yellow green fruit of excellent taste. The flesh is white, evenly balanced sweet and sour, very juicy, and crispy. It ripens from mid September i.e. 2-3 weeks earlier than Golden Delicious which makes it suitable for regions with shorter ripening season. It can be eaten off the tree or stored for maximum 3 months. It crops heavily every other year and is scab and mildew resistant.
Being self-sterile it needs another pollinator for heavy crop, such as Čistecké, Fuji, Gala, Golden Delicious, Golden Reinette, Granny Smith, James Grieve + Red, Kent, Melrose, Opal, Pinova, Rajka, Red Delicious, Rubinette, Spartan, Starking a Topaz. Hardy to min. -29°C (USDA zone 5), and suitable for all regions including colder ones.
