Red Spring is a columnar apple tree variety with medium large, very attractive fruit of dark red, glossy skin. The flesh is very tasty - evenly balanced sweet and sour, juicy, and crispy. It ripens from mid October and can be eaten off the tree or stored until about late March. It may crop every other year and is scab resistant and not prone to mildew.
Being self-sterile it needs another pollinator for heavy crop, such as Čistecké, Fuji, Gala, Golden Delicious, Golden Reinette, Granny Smith, James Grieve + Red, Kent, Melrose, Opal, Pinova, Rajka, Red Delicious, Rubinette, Spartan, Starking a Topaz. Hardy to min. -29°C (USDA zone 5), and suitable for all regions including colder ones.
