What colour is golden? It is a merge of yellow and orange but neither of those. Simply golden. If you want to exercise your colour perception have a deep look into the tones of this luxury rose called CANDLELIGHT®. No wonder it was awarded Gold Medal and chosen Golden Rose in Baden-Baden 2002. It is a strongly scented hybrid-tea rose making 12-14 cm large, fully double, almost English-rose-like flowers. The perfume is strong, well-balanced fruity and spicy. The rose is healthy and usually needs no protection against diseases, and blooms in several flushes from June till frosts. Bred by Hans Jürgen Evers in 1994.
Planting instructions: Plant it in the same level as it is now in the container. Provide a good support for the stem. Water it well and mulch it for winter. Roses tolerate wide range of soils but thrive in deep, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, in full sun. If you live in a region with harsh and long winters protect the crown and the grafting point with white woven.
Pruning: In spring after danger of all frosts prune the crown lightly to form a solid framework, and remove ill, dry and weak branches. Spent flowers are best removed as they begin to fade. Cut off spent flowering clusters just above the leaf with 5 leaflets.
