Blue and green roses are the challenge many rose breeders will do everything to undertake. This variety was bred by Meilland from France and is a living proof that a rose in green colour IS possible. It was first introduced in 2005 and is called Lovely Green®. It produces racemes of light green buds which seldom open into a wide flower, they mostly remain half open, half closed as if shy, yet revealing their fully double light beige centres. They have no fragrance. They flower repeatedly n several flushes from June until early autumn. Twigs are slightly arching.
Planting instructions: Prepare a hole of size 30x30 cm. Put your rose in the way that the grafting point is 3 cm deep in the soil. Water well and cover new shoots with soil or bark mulch about 15 cm high. Roses tolerate wide range of soils but thrive in deep, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, in full sun.
Pruning: In order to maintain a bushy and dense rose cut back all branches to 3-5 live buds from the ground level, and in summer deadhead stems with spent flowers above the first leaf with 5 leaflets.
