Polarstern® (Polar Star) is a fantastic white shrub rose from Tantau, Germany. It is a must to emphasize WHITE because this white is pure and innocent like alabaster. Looking at the double flowers at any blooming phase brings you pure thoughts and innocent feelings. They have a light fragrance and hold their heads upright just above the stems as if eager to be seen by the eyes of Gods. The shrub is compact and healthy, only under worse soil conditions the leaves may partly suffer from black spot but are very resistant to mildew. Polarstern® is a repeat bloomer.
Planting instructions: Prepare a hole of size 30x30 cm. Put your rose in the way that the grafting point is 3 cm deep in the soil. Water well and cover new shoots with soil or bark mulch about 15 cm high. Roses tolerate wide range of soils but thrive in deep, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, in full sun.
Pruning: Cut the branches in halves in autumn and prune hard to 3-5 live buds in spring after danger of frosts.
