BELONGS TO CATEGORIES | Evergreen broadleaf |
Little Diamond is a fascinating, elegant variety of English ivy. It has white variegated or to be more exact marbled leaves. They are evergreen, leathery, margined white and marbled with several shades of pale green. Being smaller as opposed to common ivies (abt. 2.5 x 1.5 cm), and diamond-shaped the name Little Diamond fully complies.
Ivy branches produce aerial roots that cling to any surface (support). Little Diamond is a short climber that seldom exceeds 2m tall and even that on proviso it is given a support and some help to climb. It is somehow rather a shrub with arching shoots.
Young plants grow slower than adults. Ivies prefer alkaline, moist, semi-fertile soil that is well drained, and are suited for both sunny and shaded locations. Fully hardy to -29°C (USDA zone 5).
