TUTTI FRUTTI™ series of common yarrow originated in the Netherlands and includes compact, freely flowering plants of vivid colours. They are all called by various fruit names according to the closest resemblance. Plants of this series originated as natural mutations of Summer Pastels variety and were discovered and selected by Elisabeth Sahin-Georgiadou in 2003. Elisabeth is a passionate horticultural botanist and plant lover who spent many years working in Cyprus, the Netherlands, Greece, and the UK. In 2015 she was awarded a prestigious AAS Medallion of Honour by All Americas Selections for her life-time contribution to horticulture.
TUTTI FRUTTI™ POMEGRANATE yarrow produces rich garnet red flowers on 30-40 cm tall stems from June until August, or until October if stems with spent flowers are removed immediately after flowering. The flower colour is intense and does not grow paler during flowering. Fern-like leaves are finely cut and rich grass green, basal leaves are larger than stem leaves. The habit is mound-forming to dome-shaped.
Yarrow is a maintenance-free perennial suitable for standard flower beds as well as dry locations and rockeries. It tolerates wide range of soils except for boggy and wet. Full sun is best. Fully hardy to min. -34°C (USDA zone 4).
