What more does one have to say to describe this plant other than its name? It is called beautiful deutzia and rest assured that the name fits. This deutzia is an arching, not very tall shrub with amazing rich pink flowers. They come out in late May and last for 2-3 weeks. They are star-shaped and decorated with a crown in the centre. The leaves are deciduous, medium green, narrowly ovate to lanceolate, prominently veined and serrated along the margins.
Rosealind deutzia is a hybrid between deutzia purpurascens and deutzia sieboldiana. It forms a low shrub with erect young branches that become arching the following year when they bear flowers. It means that flowing occurs on las year’s growth, therefore pruning should be done immediately after flowering. When the shrub is in full bloom it looks like a pink fountain.
Deutzias are quite soil adaptable and will grow in sun or part shade, too, but will look best in full sun and evenly moist soil. Fully hardy to about -34°C (USDA zone 4).
