BLUE FOR YOU® is a modern polyantha / floribunda rose bred by Peter James, UK, in 2000. It is another success in breeding a rose of a closer-to-blue colour. These flowers are rich lavender blue/violet when they open, and turn paler after a few days. They are mid-sized, semi-double, and have a lovely, strong, citrus-sweet fragrance. Leaves are dark green, partly glossy and healthy. It forms an upright shrub and the stems that bear flowers are strong and do not bend. BLUE FOR YOU® rose was patented in 2009 under PP20325 as ‘Pejamblu’.
Planting instructions: Prepare a hole of size 30x30 cm. Put your rose in the way that the grafting point is 3 cm deep in the soil. Water well and cover new shoots with soil or bark mulch about 15 cm high. Roses tolerate wide range of soils but thrive in deep, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, in full sun.
Pruning: These roses needn’t be pruned unless you need to rejuvenate older plants. In such case prune hard all stems to 3-5 live buds in early spring after all frosts. During the season you can deadhead spent flowers, best by removing the top of the stem above the first leaf with 5 leaflets.
