Perennials Summer blooms |
Helen’s flower is an attractive perennial for summer and autumn borders. Newer cultivars are selected for extended blooming time or different colour play.
Helena Yellow is a Helen’s flower variety with single colour flowers. They are just yellow, without brown or read heads. Blooming begins in first half of August and continues until October. Stems are 80-100 cm tall. Leaves are soft green, lanceolate, and appear along the stems as well as near the ground. The whole plant looks very joyful and healthy, ideal for cheering up a sunny border.
It will grow in almost soil type but prefers fertile, reasonably drained soil and full sun. It is recommended to divide every 2-4 years to encourage new roots and young plants. All parts of the plant may cause severe discomfort if eaten. Fully hardy to about -34°C (USDA zone 4).
