Honorine Jobert is a late variety of Japanese anemone. It produces 2-3 cm wide snow-white flowers with deep yellow centres of stamens from end August until the last warm days of autumn. The stalks are about 1 meter tall, well-branched. Basal leaves are deciduous, palmate, mid green, sharply toothed, sparsely hairy beneath.
Japanese anemones likes moist, humus-rich, slightly acidic, and well-drained soil. When planted in full and if you live in area with cold winters make sure the plants are well mulched to keep the roots cool and away from dry frost. They prefer slightly drier conditions before flowering in early summer, as well as in winter. Hardy to about -25°C (USDA zone 5b – borderline).
