Gaura lindheimeri 'Gaudros' GEYSER PINK wand flower, gaura

Gaura is a typical example of a plant that deserves its price should it come in any pot size. It is a perennial with extra long bloom season and requiring little or no care. Geyser Pink variety forms a compact, airy bush with mid green, small leaves at the ground level and up to 70 cm long stems with profusion of gentle, clear pink flowers from June until October. Trimming off stems with spent flowers will encourage production of new ones.
In the wild gaura lives in naturally moist lands where it thrives. Grow it in equally moist but well drained soil in full sun. Once established it tolerates summer drought. The richer soil the more flowers you get so if unsure about your soil quality fertilize it with any common fertilizer for flowering plants when in bloom. Hardy to about -27°C (USDA zone 5) but mulching is recommended for areas with long lasting frost without snow.
