Dwarf conifers are very popular in continental Europe, mostly thanks to its evergreen feature and good hardiness. Their sizes never grow over the top which makes them ideal for small-sized gardens and rock gardens, they look good as solitaires as well as in groupings. This bird’s nest spruce has very compact growth of broad-rounded habit, flat-topped with a nest-like depression in the centre. The needles are medium green with bright green new growths that are slightly ascending. It grows very slowly about 1.2m tall and 2m wide. It is soil tolerant and prefers a cooler location that does not get too dry in the summer. Fully hardy.
