Delphinium (Belladonna group) 'ATLANTIS' larkspur
Larkspur is a favourite perennial where varieties with blue flowers are most popular. Atlantis is a variety from Belladona group with deep, velvety blue flowers. They appear on up to 1 m long stems. Even though they are quite strong we suggest staking the stems to prevent damage by wind or heavy rain on exposed sites.
Thinning is recommended for best results – in spring when the new shoots are about 7 cm tall leave only 3 shoots on young plants and max. 7 shoots on strong plants to encourage only strong growths. Cut back stems with spent flowers to prolong flowering period.

The name delphinium was used to describe the shape of the flower bud which looks like a dolphin (rather fat one). The plant contains toxin which may cause severe discomfort if ingested. Fully hardy to min. -27°C (USDA zone 5).
